The Demonic, Obsession, Depression,Posession

When an exorcism is  in need

15_04_12_jp2_doctor_header

According to the Vatican, guidelines issued in 1999, “the person who claims to be possessed must be evaluated by doctors to rule out a mental or physical illness.”Most reported cases do not require an exorcism because twentieth-century Catholic officials regard genuine demonic possession as an extremely rare phenomenon that is easily confounded with natural mental disturbances. Many times a person just needs spiritual or medical help, especially if drugs or other addictions are present. After the need of the person has been determined. then the appropriate help will be met. In the circumstance of spiritual help, prayers may be offered, or the laying on of hands or a counseling session may be prescribed.

Could Pope John Paul be saying the newer Rite of Exorcism does not hold water comparing it to the older version? If anything what does this mean?Frankly, from everything that I hear, the newer rite does not hold a candle to the older, traditional rite. I am not sure about the use of English versus Latin, but exorcists have told me that demons can from time to time correct an exorcist’s Latin errors. It seems that Latin annoys them more than the vernacular.

This is of course all associated with the Catholic view points. We would like to think any religion as long as God is involved, there would be someone  capable of doing and performing and  exorcism. After all is it not the power and belief in Christ, that compels said demons? the  faith you have no matter the situation?

There are several signs of demonic influence  that  cause either possession,  Obsession,  or even Depression. You have all heard ministers, priests speak about possession, but have you heard them speak about obsession? What is obsession? obsession is when their is some underlining and reoccurring phenomena, that has gotten your attention. You begin to notice it more and more until it is on your mind, in your dreams and deep within your subconscious. There is another word I know most have not spoken of, it is called fascination. Curiosity killed the cat. When you start getting on the subject of the demonic it seems that a door opens and the intuitiveness that everyone has, seems to allow them(The demonic) to get closer to you.

What is an obsession?

An obsession is a recurring thought related to the idea that something terrible may happen, either to oneself or those around one. Against their will, obsession leads affected individuals to imagine a series of ominous consequences that they wish to avoid at any cost. Usually, obsession is accompanied by an urgent desire to take action. This is what happens with and when someone is associated with paranormal phenomena. Because in said many cases the activity continues, or may even happen on more frequent bases. The said individual becomes infatuated with the said phenomena. It is said in theory, that Demons are the destroyers of mans souls. It is also believed that Individuals who have been effected by said phenomena has actually invited this phenomena in by always thinking about the phenomena, think of it as a way of communication to the afterworld.

 Important Points about Obsession

· Obsession always includes an element of doubt. One imagines a possibility; the thought takes the form of “this might happen.”
· The doubt is not based on any real information. Instead, it is caused by the thought that danger is possible despite the evidence of one’s senses.
· The thought is sometimes horrifying and concerns a danger or misfortune that could possibly take place.

The thought that a dangerous situation may occur is what causes the anxiety. If affected individuals were sure that this situation would not happen at the moment of imagining it, they would not be so obsessed.

WIKIPEDIA-defines Obsession” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsession_(Spiritism)

Obsession, also known as spirit obsession, is a technical term within the Spiritist belief and practice defined by the author Allan Kardec as the interference of a subjugating spirit with a weaker spirit (cf. Latin obsidere, “besiege”).[1][2] Although the term most commonly refers to the negative influence of the spirit of an evil deceased person on the mind or spirit of a living person, obsession can occur in either direction.

Obsession is believed by many Spiritists to be a major danger to unprepared and untrained mediums. It is also believed to be one of the most frequent causes of mental illness and criminal behaviour.[1][2]

Because the danger of obsession is a core belief within Spiritism, dealing with it is one of the cornerstones of Spiritist religious activity, and it is treated at Spiritist centres by means of prayer and teaching. Its centrality to Spiritist doctrine and practice is one of the marks that generally distinguishes Spiritism from both Spiritualism and the Spiritual Church Movement. However, the 19th century Spiritualist author Paschal Beverly Randolph also recognized the dangers of obsession to mediums, and claimed to have been harmed by evil spirits during his own career as a Spiritualist lecturer and trance medium.[3]

Important tips on Depression.

Could depression be demonic in nature? My personal view is that it can be traced to demonic powers and that mental illnesses almost always have a spiritual basis. If this is true, then only God can take them away, and medications and psychological remedies will only mask the real issue. A person needs deliverance from the spirit of depression, not a regimen of drugs! Would you agree? we think it’s a serious mistake to suppose that all mental illness is demonic, or that all paranormal phenomena is do to mental illness.

Overcoming depression caused by ghost possession

Elizabeth is a successful young woman of 27 years, with a good track of career in research and development. Throughout her life she has been experiencing periods of mild to medium depression approximately 6 times a year. She did not have an explanation for the depression. The following is an account of the depression that she was facing, in her own words.

“I come from a very good family. My parents had taught me to become self-reliant from an early age so as not to depend on them. Whenever I was studying they would impress upon me that whatever I was doing, I was doing for myself only. This taught me to be responsible. As a result the grades I gained in my school years were always above average.”

“I started working during my studies and managed these two obligations simultaneously with ease. I excelled in my work life too and soon was offered a permanent role. After becoming financially independent, I was able to pursue interests such as furthering my language skills, undertaking unusual sports and travel. However even though externally I projected a successful image, internally I was prone to bouts of depression, which affected me at least 6 times a year for a duration of approximately 6 weeks at a time. When I tried to introspect as to what was causing the depression, it was only in some cases, I was able to pin-point the reason. Also in some cases, incidents in my life would impact me to a very large extent. For example, in my school years my friends stopped talking to me for many months with no apparent reason. Another example was when one of my boyfriends left me, causing a state of depression that lasted for over eight months. In another case, depression was caused due to an expectation of how my boss at work should be. I became accustomed to live with these bouts of depression, where in most cases I did not know the causes. Although I had everything in life, I still felt it was not complete as I was suffering from bouts of depression.”

Then one day, one of my friends introduced me to the Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) under whose guidance she had been practising Spirituality. The concepts in Spirituality that were taught were truly universal and they intrigued me. I too commenced spiritual practice and shortly after in May 2002, I travelled with my friend to the SSRF hermitage (ashram) in Goa, India to learn more about Spirituality, little knowing that they would provide me with an answer to my bouts of depression.
